10 p.m. – Results for Mail Ballots received from the U.S. Postal Service on Election morning and results for ballots cast at polling places on Election Day added to results.

12 a.m. (or earlier if the counting of ballots cast at polling places is completed) – Final Unofficial Election Night Results posted.

Chairman Brulte Statement on Morrell Victory in
SD 23 Special Election

(SACRAMENTO) — California Republican Party Chairman Jim Brulte today issued the following statement on the special election to fill the vacant Senate District 23 seat:

“Congratulations to Senator-elect Mike Morrell and his entire campaign team on a well deserved victory. As an Assemblyman, Mike has proven himself to be a man of strong character, and I’m sure he’ll continue providing the same high level of integrity and accountability in his position in the Senate.

“I also congratulate Sen. Bob Huff, the Senate Republican Caucus and all our state party volunteers on their excellent teamwork. This is exactly the effort we need to achieve our goals in 2014.”
